Big Bet Match-Up Meeting on Distributed Business Models
Rockefeller Foundation & the Observer Research Foundation, 2017
Dalberg Media executed a Big Bet Match-Up Meeting in Jaipur, India to explore the potential of distributed business models as an overarching response to some of the most pressing SDG-challenges, India is facing. In particular, the meeting focused on how distributed business models within WASH, energy, health and creative manufacturing can be applied within production and service delivery.
The Big Bet Match-Up Meetings are part of the Big Bet Initiative conceptualized and driven by Dalberg Media. The Big Bet Initiative is set in motion to identify, improve, scale and accelerate great ideas and innovative solutions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The initiative builds on the book 17 Big Bets for a Better World, which serves as a catalytic catalogue of ideas and solutions to the SDGs from some of the world’s most inspiring thought leaders.
The Big Bet Match-Up meetings in selected hotspots around the world aspire to identify, improve and implement innovative ideas that support the realization of the SDGs through establishment of crosscutting partnerships. The initiative generates sustainable Big Bets and transformational ideas by creating solution-oriented fora that address local challenges and identifies scalable solutions. Finally, through the Big Bet Match-Up Meetings, the Big Bet Initiative creates awareness around the SDG-agenda by actively involving local, national and global stakeholders and media.
