Armand Dieng

Armand Babacar Dieng is a Senior Data Scientist at Dalberg Data Insights. Prior to DDI, he was Chief Financial Officer at Mavuno, a Congolese start-up NGO in charge of preventing the enrollment of children into militias. 

He started his career as a Financial Auditor at PwC, worked as an Asset and Liability Manager at the Ecobank then served for 3 years as the International Monetary Fund’s country economist for DR Congo, where he worked with the Government on furthering good practices in Public Finance Management. Armand’s public finance expertise also includes working with the Brazilian Federal Anti-Corruption Agency to build predictive models for the detection of corrupted companies in the public procurement process, and recently leading the implementation of an €80 million SME Fund in Iraq for a UN agency.

Armand holds an MBA from the Wharton School with a major in statistics and an MPA/ID from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
