Mary Irungu leads finance and operations at Dalberg Data Insights, building the financial systems and processes that support the organization’s growth. She manages day-to-day financial operations, vendor and contract oversight, people operations, and compliance, while identifying opportunities to streamline and automate where it makes sense. Before joining DDI, Mary spent 15 years in finance, audit, and compliance roles across nonprofit, technology, and petroleum sectors. She led audits, finance teams, handled donor funding, managed risk and compliance, facilitated system migrations and process improvements.

Mary is committed to continuous learning and holds an MBA in International Business and a BCom in Accounting. She’s also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and Certified Information Privacy Professional-Europe (CIPP/E). She’s drawn to work where her technical expertise facilitates real world impact which aligns with DDI’s mission of using data and AI to solve development challenges across Africa.
