Tushar is an Associate Partner with Dalberg Advisors based in their Mumbai office. Tushar is primarily focused on the development finance & investment space, and also leads work in the cities space. His experience is largely in Asia, where he leads most of his work.

In the finance & investment space, he has worked with clients across the spectrum including social enterprises, large corporations, philanthropic donors, non-profits, academia, and development finance institutions, advising them on fund structuring, evaluating feasibility / readiness for innovative or blended finance, business model development, fund-raising strategies, financial structuring, instrument design and design of public-private-partnership (PPP) structures. In the cities space, Tushar has advised development-sector clients & city governments in relation to the development of resilience strategies and approaches to smart city development.

In the finance & investment space, Tushar’s recent work includes advising a development agency on the structure and strategy for a new blended finance fund, working with an early stage financial-sector social enterprise to enhance their organizational capacity for a future fund-raise, and helping the Millennium Challenge Corporation assess the financial system of Timor Leste. In addition, Tushar has worked on the feasibility evaluation and design of innovative financing instruments, especially a number of development impact bonds, in developing countries. In the cities space, Tushar recently worked with the UNDP Global Center for Technology, Innovation and Sustainable Development (UNDP GCTISD) on helping them re-conceptualize smart cities and develop a playbook & smart-city innovations archetypes for city leaders. 

Before joining Dalberg, Tushar was a Vice President in the Mumbai office of Lazard, an investment bank, where he advised Indian and international clients in relation to M&A and fund-raising transactions. Tushar holds a Master of International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Bangalore.
