MUMBAI, August 21: Dalberg Advisors today announced that Jagjeet Sareen, Partner and India Head, will become Regional Director for Asia-Pacific, succeeding Swetha Totapally. Swetha, who has held the role since 2023, will be leading The Longevity Stitch, a new initiative to shape how India understands ageing, and working to build The Neelakurinji Fund, a new foundation to end gender-based violence. 

Jagjeet steps into the role on the strength of his work building Dalberg’s climate practice in India, most significantly through the Bharat Climate Forum (BCF), a platform he conceived and helped seed with the Council for International Economic Understanding to bring together policymakers, industry heads, funders, and researchers around climate-led growth. Since its launch in 2025, BCF has convened leaders including Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology and Minister of Railways, alongside industry heads driving indigenous cleantech manufacturing. The forum’s National Manufacturing Mission blueprint directly informed the Union Budget 2025 announcements on cleantech manufacturing support. 

The Honourable Vice President of India Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the 2026 edition of BCF, and released the Blueprint for India’s Cleantech Manufacturing Ambition. The report was also endorsed by Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Minister of Power and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of New and Renewable Energy, and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. 

Jagjeet, who joined Dalberg as a Principal in 2023 and rose to Partner and India Country Head, brings two decades of climate finance experience across multilateral and government institutions, including the World Bank’s Global Climate Practice, the Asian Development Bank, the Green Climate Fund, and the UN Climate Change Secretariat. Beyond climate, he has been central to growing Dalberg’s India business: deepening relationships with industry and government, bringing the firm’s thought leadership to the country’s decision-makers, and opening new avenues of growth. As he moves into his new role, Jagjeet will expand his efforts to the wider Asia-Pacific region, building on Swetha’s work.

Swetha became Asia-Pacific Regional Director in 2023 after more than a decade at Dalberg. She oversaw the regional business’s fastest period of growth and led the firm through some of its most difficult periods such as the challenging times faced by the impact sector in the aftermath of global funding cuts in 2025.  

In her tenure, Swetha worked to make the Dalberg brand visible through investments in thought leadership on topics ranging from sports and physical activity to ageing, usher in new sources of capital such as diaspora philanthropy, and bring fresh ideas and funding to the gender practice area, which she has passionately supported throughout her career.
