In Africa, several governments have taken the lead on climate action, submitting second and third rounds of nationally determined contributions (NDC). However, investment is yet to match the climate ambition of countries. In recent years, Africa has received only 11% of the $277 billion required annually to implement the NDCs and meet its 2030 climate goals.
One of the challenges is that NDCs are often misaligned with broader economic agendas, inspiring little confidence in investors.
