Girish is the Strategy & Global Partnerships Lead at Dalberg Advisors, based out of the Mumbai office. He leads a central team that works closely with the Dalberg Advisors’ Global Managing Partner and senior leaders to build new client platforms, develop strategic partnerships, and shape complex opportunities across the firm.
His advisory work spans education and ed-tech, gender equality, food systems, and non-profit and corporate impact strategy. He has worked with governments, multilaterals, and global nonprofits across his engagements.
Recent examples of Girish’s work include developing the investment case and donor engagement strategy for the United Nations Gender Equality Acceleration Plan; designing and launching India’s Personalized Adaptive Learning Collaborative; and shaping the global impact narrative for the Global Fund for Widows. He has also led work on global hunger and food systems for a Middle Eastern donor and helped design Jharkhand’s District Innovation Challenge under the LiftEd initiative to improve foundational learning and school climate outcomes.
Before joining Dalberg, Girish was Chief Operating Officer and Director – Scale Programmes at Peepul, an education non-profit. He led large-scale education partnerships with central and state governments in India that reached more than 300,000 teachers and 10 million students. He also helped grow Peepul from approximately 40 to more than 175 staff and increase its budget fivefold.
Earlier, Girish was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, working across banking, technology, and social impact sectors in India and Southeast Asia. He also served as Country Manager for Generation India, a McKinsey-incubated nonprofit focused on youth skilling and employment.
Beyond Dalberg, Girish runs Raahi: Impact, a community and platform that brings together conversations, ideas, and resources to strengthen India’s social sector.
Girish holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras, where he received the Institute Blues Certificate of Merit. He holds an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class and received the prestigious Aditya Birla Scholarship. Outside of work, he enjoys making music, reading and writing.
