As a co-founder of Dalberg Data Insights (DDI), the AI & Analytics arm of Dalberg, Rositsa Zaimova has spearheaded the integration of AI and data ecosystem thinking into her projects. Committed to democratizing AI access for resource-constrained organizations, Rositsa advocates for AI-driven ecosystems that are technologically advanced, built on reliable infrastructures, and deeply rooted in enhancing human capabilities and ensuring ethical governance. Her vision is to create a future where AI empowers communities, drives inclusive growth, and fosters a balance between technological innovation and human-centric development in low- and middle-income countries.
Under her leadership, the DDI team has played a pivotal role in utilizing AI for tangible social impact. Recently, with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation AI grant, her team developed a groundbreaking decision support tool that leverages a Gen AI-enabled interface, such as a chatbot, to simplify interactions for public health officials with the DHIS2 database. The tool enhances accessibility to complex data insights for users with varying levels of data expertise, particularly in public health. Rositsa also led the team in building Augment Impact, an AI platform enabling the development of Responsible AI agents that address real problems and augment human potential.
Rositsa holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the American University in Bulgaria and a Master of Science in International Management from ESADE Business School, Spain. She is an East Africa Acumen Fellow and an Ambassador for One Young World. Her efforts in driving social entrepreneurship earned her a spot on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in Europe.
