Dalberg Advisors is pleased to announce the appointment of Gaurav Gupta as Global Managing Partner. Effective January 1, 2023, Gaurav will steward the firm at a time of rising recognition that social and environmental impact can no longer be a niche conversation and needs to be incorporated into the purpose of every institution.
To meet this enormous opportunity, Dalberg Advisors has embarked on an exciting growth journey through deepening its presence across the globe and seeking out strategic partnerships that amplify its social mission.
Gaurav brings significant experience to lead this growth agenda. He founded Dalberg’s first office in the Asia Pacific region in Mumbai in 2009 and, as Regional Director, has since helped grow the Asia Pacific team to nearly 200 staff across six different offices. Gaurav also established and leads Dalberg’s global Climate practice and previously led the Monitoring and Evaluation practice. He advises a broad range of institutions about how to measure and scale their impact and has led projects across multiple geographies and sectors including energy access, financial inclusion, access to education, and inclusive business.
As part of this transition, Dalberg Advisors would like to express gratitude to Edwin Macharia and Joe Dougherty who navigated the firm through a time of global pandemic while continuing to grow our impact. In the last three years Dalberg opened more than 10 new locations; launched a new practice area, Justice, Equity, and Economic Mobility, and; supported several seminal efforts globally and locally to fight the pandemic, alongside deepening our work with clients.
“I love the idea that this firm stands for and the work that we do,” said Gaurav. “We have always believed that the right professional advice is one that optimizes for the greater good. We have an opportunity to bring that message to all corners of our field and grow our impact even further at a time when the global challenges we all face are more urgent than ever.”
