Dalberg Partner Laura Herman Recognized by Marquis Who’s Who for Expertise in Global Development

Dalberg Advisors is proud to celebrate Laura Herman, a Partner at Dalberg Advisors in the Americas, for being honored by Marquis Who’s Who for her exemplary contributions to global development. The recognition celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and leadership in their fields, spanning business, medicine, education, and beyond. 

With a career spanning nearly 30 years, Laura has been a leader in global health and gender equity and joined Dalberg Advisors in 2020. She has collaborated with leading philanthropic organizations such as the Gates Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation, socially committed companies such as Merck, Visa, AB InBev, and LEGO, as well as bilateral and multilateral actors including USAID, UN Women, and UNICEF. Reflecting on the recognition, Laura says:

Laura also serves as Dalberg’s Global Director of Communications, where she shapes narratives on critical issues affecting communities worldwide, such as poverty alleviation, gender equity, and strengthening health systems. Laura’s dedication to advancing equitable opportunities is informed by a diverse academic and professional journey. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Michigan and dual master’s degrees in International Policy Studies and Business from Stanford University. She was VP of Strategy and Advocacy for EssilorLuxottica, based in Singapore, where she developed business models to drive uptake of eyeglasses in low-income countries. She was also a founding team member and Managing Director at FSG, leading their Global Health and Gender Equity practices. Her early experiences as an exchange student in Spain, an intern in Prague, and a solo backpacker through 30+ countries have shaped her global perspective and commitment to driving impact. 

Beyond Dalberg, Laura serves on several advisory boards, including the Global Health Council, US Pharmacopoeia, and VillageReach.  She was a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and has contributed to influential publications such as the Stanford Social Innovation Review. Her accolades include being named one of the 50 Most Influential Social Innovators by the World Sustainability Congress in 2018 and one of the Women Super Achievers in 2019.
