SHARON NJAVIKA

Sharon Njavika is a Creative Lead at Dalberg Design based in the Nairobi studio. She applies an integrated design practice that borrows elements of behavioural science, Human Centred Design (HCD) and qualitative research to creatively solve challenges within the development sector, leading some of Dalberg Design’s integrated practice initiatives. Sharon’s research and design experience cuts across a number of sectors in health, employment, energy, agriculture, and financial inclusion primarily across regions in East, West, and South Africa as well as South East Asia.

Prior to joining Dalberg Design, Sharon worked as a senior associate at The Busara Center For Behavioral Economics in Nairobi, Kenya. During this time, she was part of a core team that initiated the set-up of the Nigerian Policy Innovation Unit- the first African government affiliated behavioural science testing unit. She also contributed to several design and mixed-methods initiatives and worked as the lead  behavioural design consultant for the Finsights Lab, a multi-partner financial inclusion initiative set up by Financial Sector Deepening Trust to enhance innovation around design and financial research in Tanzania.

Sharon holds a BSc degree in Psychology and Media, Communications & Culture from Keele University and a MSc degree in Health and Development from The London School of Economics department of Psychological and Behavioural Science.
