Dalberg is pleased to announce the appointment of Stig Tackmann as the new Executive Director of the Dalberg Trust. Stig, who joined Dalberg as a consultant in 2011, transitions into this role from his previous position as the Co-founder and Managing Director of Dalberg Media. In his new capacity, Stig will be responsible for ensuring that Dalberg’s businesses remain focused on driving sustainable and inclusive growth while fostering innovation to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges.
Stig Tackmann has been instrumental in building Dalberg Media’s expertise in strategic communication, advocacy, and creating global experiences. His work has focused on building partnerships and coalitions for sustainable development, operationalizing Dalberg Media’s strategic vision and driving major engagements with clients like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, EXPO, UNDP, UNICEF, Merck Group, Wellcome Trust, and the World Diabetes Foundation. His previous experience includes roles at the Danish Ministry of Finance, Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Danish Embassy in Berlin.
Reflecting on his new role, Stig said, “Having spent most of my career at Dalberg, I remain deeply committed to the values, vision, and mission of the firm. But most importantly, I’m committed to our staff, our impact, and our position in the world. Being able to serve and drive Dalberg into its next 20 years of operation by growing our value proposition is not only a substantial task but also a great privilege.”
As the Executive Director of the Dalberg Trust, Stig will leverage his knowledge and experience in building and expanding the company across multiple regions, overseeing the organization’s brand, and ensuring continued innovation and agility. He expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter. “As I step down as Managing Director, I leave behind a thriving Dalberg Media with an exceptional leadership team. I also have tremendous faith in Dalberg’s overall future potential. It is with great enthusiasm and deep appreciation of the task that I assume responsibilities as Executive Director of the Dalberg Trust,” he stated.
Henrik Skovby, Chairman and Founder of Dalberg Group, shared his thoughts on Stig’s new role. “We are tremendously grateful for Stig’s contribution to the firm—both for his past contribution as co-founder and Managing Director of Dalberg Media over the past nine years, and for his willingness to take on another leadership role in the company. Giving space to the next generation of leaders is an important step if we want to grow both as professionals and as an organization. Stig’s background in media and running a company effectively is something that will benefit the Trust substantially.”
Stig’s academic background includes a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Columbia University, where he specialized in security issues related to climate change and development. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen. He is a Fulbright Scholar and edited the book “17 Big Bets for a Better World.”
