Executive Director, Dalberg Trust

Stig Tackmann serves as the Executive Director of Dalberg Trust — the custodian of Dalberg’s mission — ensuring that our businesses stay focused on driving sustainable and inclusive growth and that our people are consistently innovating to find new solutions to the world’s most challenging problems.  

Stig is an impact-focused entrepreneur, specializing in leadership, branding, and communications. He joined Dalberg as a consultant in 2011 and has worked in multiple functions across the firm. In 2015, Stig co-founded Dalberg Media and has served as the Co-founder, Co-owner, and Managing Director of the firm until taking on the Trust Director role in May 2024. Stig has built Dalberg Media’s corporate structure, governance, and expertise within strategic communication, media production and storytelling, as well as conceptualization, design, and execution of events and experiences. Stig’s work within Dalberg Media has focused on driving major client engagements, building partnerships and coalitions for sustainable development, and operationalizing Dalberg Media’s strategic vision. 

Prior to founding Dalberg Media, Stig worked as the Editor-in-Chief for Denmark’s leading international news magazine RÆSON and for the Danish Ministry of Finance, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Danish Embassy in Berlin. Stig has also served as an External Lecturer, Department of Intercultural Communication and Management, at Copenhagen Business School and sits on a number of boards.  

Stig is a Fullbright Scholar and holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Columbia University in New York where he specialized in security issues related to climate change and development. Stig also holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen. In 2017, Stig edited the book 17 Big Bets for a Better World, containing 17 separate articles for prominent sector leaders on big bets for sustainable development.
