Improving labor conditions in agricultural supply chains requires coordinated action across companies, funders, and local actors, which is often hindered by fragmented efforts and weak governance. We serve as Secretariat for the Mexico Sugarcane Collective, leading strategic facilitation, governance transition, and coordination across global brands (PepsiCo, Mars, Nestlé), funders, NGOs, and mills. Dalberg’s support has enabled stronger alignment and effective implementation, yielding outcomes like the adoption of new payment systems and practices by sugar mills that improve wages, working conditions, and productivity for sugarcane workers in Mexico.
