P4G engaged Dalberg Media to execute Partnership Acceleration Workshops during the Copenhagen Summit and United Nations General Assembly week for its most promising partnerships, which included developing a unique methodology that would later be replicated globally. Dalberg Media was part of developing the overall narrative for the event as well as the tagline and a brochure .
Summary
P4G Partnership Facilitation Program during the P4G Copenhagen Summit: Dalberg Media conceptualized and executed partnership acceleration workshops for +500 high-level stakeholders at the P4G Summit in Copenhagen in 2018. The summit focused on water, food and agriculture, cities, energy, and circular economy. By developing a facilitation framework and sourcing 20 experienced facilitators to run the workshops, Dalberg Media planned and executed five parallel workshops, including coordination with speakers and moderators. The workshops were designed to support handpicked public-private partnerships in overcoming their most pressing challenges by coming up with potential solutions and offering concrete advice and support. Dalberg Media was also part of developing the overall narrative and executing the P4G Copenhagen Summit ceremony which featured speeches from five Heads of States, a pitching competition and inspiring keynotes. Throughout the project, Dalberg Media worked closely with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Danish ministries, the P4G Secretariat and large international organizations to ensure high-quality execution.
P4G Partnership Acceleration Workshops during the United Nations General Assembly: During the UNGA, Dalberg re-partnered with P4G to support its public-private partnerships in developing SDG solutions, while also conceptualizing and implementing workshops to accelerate their progress. Similarly to the Copenhagen Summit, Dalberg Media developed a facilitation framework and sourced experienced facilitators to run the workshops. We planned and executed parallel workshops based on the same philosophy as in Copenhagen. Stakeholders consisted of the most influential actors across sectors, including ministers from Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Approach
P4G aims to form and support impactful partnerships. We developed a methodology which included: Knowledge Management and Learning; Recognition and Networking; Advisory Services; and, Funding and Investment Opportunities. Partnerships received these services in a customized manner throughout their engagement with P4G, but it is only through P4G Partnership Acceleration Workshops that these services were consolidated to amplify the acceleration of each partnership and its SDG solution in a customized manner.
P4G works with public-private partnerships at various stages of development within a diverse array of sectors, focus areas, geographic locations and needs. As P4G is invested in the success of each, this necessitates a personalized approach to the support P4G provides in order for partnerships to reach their full potential. Dalberg Media developed a model that supports the partnership’s journey to implement their SDG solutions in five stages:
Impact
In total, 22 Public-Private P4G Partnerships for green growth were at the center of their individual specifically targeted facilitation exercise, where they received feedback on their own pre-defined current challenge and advice going forward. P4G awarded US$4.3 million in funds to 6 of the 22 P4G Partnerships, who will advance green growth solutions globally.
