Dalberg Media was commissioned by one of the world’s largest global development institutions to help test the feasibility of and conceptualize an online knowledge platform and a funding facility for social entrepreneurs to increase likelihood of implementation of their sustainable development ideas. By conducting qualitative expert interviews with social entrepreneurs to inform a landscape analysis, Dalberg conceptualized the content of the online knowledge platform.
The aim with the platform is to help social entrepreneurs in developing economies to overcome start-up and scale-up challenges. The online platform was conceptualized with functionalities such as showcasing of promising initiatives, a peer-to-peer communities, access to experts and mentors and a knowledge bank. A part of the study, Dalberg Media also conceptualized the framework for a funding facility that potentially can support the most promising social entrepreneurial ventures based on a thorough application system.
