Racism must end. We must do better, now.

We stand together in grief and anguish, mourning the senseless murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and countless other victims. We recognize the suffering and vast inequities that Black people and Black communities have long endured every day in the U.S. and around the world.

To our Black colleagues, partners, and loved ones: We acknowledge and lament the consistent pain and suffering the systemic racism and social injustice that is deeply embedded in our society bring. We stand in solidarity, and commit to taking shared responsibility to help combat racial injustice.

Beyond words, Dalberg commits to greater action. We will dive deeper into the uncomfortable, difficult work of fighting anti-Black racism and racism of all kinds. We are far from meeting the ideals of our mission to build a more inclusive and sustainable world where all people, everywhere, can reach their fullest potential — but we are making progress. We are a community that is not afraid to take on difficult issues that require a deep commitment to the hard work of positive systems change.

We must accelerate our own journey as we work to create a more just and equitable future. The voices of those in our communities, offices, and networks who have experienced injustice firsthand will be at the core of our efforts as we seek to learn and effect change. We will uncover where we could have done, and can continue to do, better, now.
