Fauzia Matyas Jamal

Fauzia is an Associate Partner with Dalberg’s Dar es Salaam office and is based in the UK. Fauzia focuses on strategic planning, market assessment, and program design in the areas of education, skills, child and youth development, and employment. She is passionate about opportunities to grow and sustain livelihoods in Africa through industry growth and enterprise development. She has experience across a range of sectors including agriculture, digital financial services, health and nutrition, and tourism/hospitality. 

Prior to Dalberg Fauzia worked at the Mastercard Foundation where she helped design and develop a $50M initiative in Rwanda to improve skills and employment opportunities for young people while expanding the tourism and hospitality industry in the country. She has also worked with Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator in South Africa and consulted for the Initiative for Smallholder Finance and the Rural and Agricultural Finance Learning Lab on improving access to digital financial products for smallholder farmers. 

Fauzia completed her undergraduate studies in international health at the University of Pennsylvania, and her master’s degree in international development at the University of Oxford.
