Juan Felipe Quintero is an Associate Partner at Dalberg’s Bogotá office and co-leads the firm’s work in Colombia and Central America. With over 15 years of experience in international development in Latin America, spanning both government and management consulting, he has focused on aiding clients in designing and executing strategies and public–private partnerships to address critical issues such as poverty and inequality.

At Dalberg, Juan Felipe concentrates on assisting enterprises in crafting, planning, and executing a tailored portfolio of social programs aligned with their business objectives. This effort utilizes Oxford University’s multidimensional poverty index to enable corporations to better comprehend the well-being of their employees, local communities, value chain actors, and customers, facilitating the identification and achievement of ambitious poverty reduction goals.

Juan Felipe possesses extensive experience in building robust private–public partnerships to promote inclusive economic growth in Latin America. He has successfully led the development and execution of strategies for job creation, export promotion, infrastructure development, and investment attraction in Colombia, Guatemala, and beyond. Additionally, he has significant experience in establishing and managing delivery units. For instance, he led the design and implementation of a delivery unit for a Latin American energy ministry tasked with realizing the country’s energy transformation objectives.

Before joining Dalberg, Juan Felipe served as a Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey, where he was a key figure in the public and social sector practice in Latin America. He also held positions as a Senior Policy Advisor to the President of Colombia, Vice-Minister of Planning of Colombia, and Director of Rural Development at the Ministry of Planning of Colombia.

Juan Felipe holds a BA in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes, Master’s in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, Master’s in Antitrust and Regulation from the Barcelona Graduate School, and Master’s in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes.
