Mukhtar is an Associate Partner at Dalberg in Addis Ababa. He is focused on inclusive business growth, with a particular interest in light manufacturing. He has worked in manufacturing, agriculture, and enabling systems such as financial services and labor market dynamics.
Mukhtar’s work includes providing advice on strategy, design of new initiatives, and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning. He has worked with governments, including developing national policy agendas, identifying and packaging national investment opportunities, and advising on private sector support. For example, Mukhtar worked with the Government of Ethiopia to help analyze the major trends of the country’s labor market and support the development of a National Plan of Action for Jobs Creation. Mukhtar has also advised development partners across the Africa region, including Foundations, multilateral institutions, and implementing partners on strategy development.
Mukhtar holds a Master of Law and Diplomacy degree from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Policy from College of the Atlantic.
