Alexander Hazen is an Associate Partner in Dalberg’s Geneva office, advising corporations, foundations, and multilateral institutions on responsible business, climate, and conservation. He specializes in developing practical frameworks, tools, and partnerships that translate sustainability and social impact into business value and strategic decisions. He brings a “field-to-boardroom” perspective, combining on-the-ground value chain insight with corporate and institutional priorities to deliver strategies that are both practical and impact-driven.

Alexander’s work focuses on responsible business and sustainable value chains, particularly in food and beverage, coffee, and pharmaceutical sectors, advising, amongst others, Nespresso, PepsiCo, Pfizer, Novartis, and Merck. He has supported global companies to embed sustainability and livelihoods into sourcing strategies, design and scale cross-sector partnerships, and develop decision-making tools that assess the financial and strategic implications of sustainability commitments. His work includes designing co-funding and blended finance platforms for regenerative agriculture, strengthening farmer livelihoods strategies across priority markets, and advising pharmaceutical companies on shared value, access strategies, and partnerships in global health.

In climate and conservation, Alexander has worked with organizations such as the Green Climate Fund, WWF, The Ocean Cleanup, Rockefeller Foundation and the WTO Fisheries Trust Fund. His work has included designing global deployment strategies, strengthening conservation approaches across major ecosystems, and developing decision-making frameworks for climate finance and environmental governance. He has also supported a leading conservation organization in the Middle East to define a multi-year strategy to expand its focus from single-species conservation to broader ecosystem protection and conservation services.

Before joining Dalberg, he worked with TechnoServe in Mozambique on agricultural value chain development. He holds an MSc in International Management from Bocconi University and CEMS.
