Barbara is an Associate Partner based in the firm’s Nairobi office. She brings extensive experience in management consulting across Africa and Latin America, with deep expertise in public health, local pharmaceutical manufacturing, immunization, women’s health, and innovation ecosystems. Her work spans the social sector spectrum, partnering with governments, foundations, multilaterals, NGOs, and private-sector actors to strengthen health systems and advance inclusive economic growth.

Barbara’s public health work has focused extensively on strengthening Africa’s vaccine, diagnostics, and research ecosystems. She has supported Ministries of Health and global partners, including Gavi, on vaccine introduction and scale-up efforts across multiple African countries; worked with the Government of South Africa to develop a national pharmaceutical and vaccine innovation strategy; partnered with Unitaid to assess barriers and investment pathways for rapid diagnostic test production through direct engagement with local manufacturers; and worked closely with the Gates Foundation to assess Africa’s health research ecosystem and support the introduction and scale-up of point-of-care diagnostics for sexually transmitted infections across select African markets.

Beyond health, Barbara has led and contributed to engagements across agriculture, energy, education-to-employment, digital innovation, gender, and financial inclusion. Her work includes supporting youth employment programs in agriculture, developing investment and impact models for social enterprises, advising governments and donors on climate-aligned energy and water investments, and designing strategies to expand access to finance for women, youth, and smallholder farmers. Across sectors, she brings a strong analytical lens to market landscaping, investment prioritization, impact modeling, and strategy development, with a consistent focus on translating evidence into actionable policy and investment decisions.

Before joining Dalberg, Barbara worked in management consulting in Latin America, advising clients primarily in financial services and digital platforms. Barbara holds a Master’s degree in Economic Development from the Barcelona School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
